Cooperation Agreement signed by Perm Mayor Aleksey Demkin and Head of Ufa City Administration Ratmir Mavliev.
Perm received an official delegation from Ufa, the capital city of the Bashkortostan Republic. The visit was focused on preparations for the 300-year anniversary of Perm, exchange of practices in public services improvement, redevelopment and transportation services.
Perm received the official delegation form the capital city of the Baskotostan, Ufa, led by the Head of Administration Ratmir Mavliev, During an intensive visit programme the management teams of two large cities exchanged experiences and discussed a diverse scope of issues around municipal development. The visit started with signing an agreement on cooperation between the cities. In his speech, Mayor of Perm Aleksey Demkin stressed that both Perm and Ufa have much in common.
– Both our million-populated cities are considered important industrial centres of the country, having a glorious history and intensive cultural life. Both cities have been honoured by the title of “The City of Labour Valour”. Both cities are now preparing to mark an important date – Perm in 2023 celebrating its 300th anniversary and Ufa to mark its 450-year anniversary in 2024. Both municipalities have advanced experience to share in such areas as recreational and event tourism, raising the urban environment quality and improving social infrastructure”, noted Aleksey Demkin.
According to Ratmir Mavliev, signig the cooperation agreement between Perm and Ufa is another step forward in the long-term partnership between the two cities and, in the long run, an impetus to further economic and social development.
– Perm is a very beautiful city and in many aspects it is in the forefront of federal agenda, as the city pioneers a number of important and creative management decisions. We are much interested in the experience Perm has with organising paid parking. Perm Embankment bustling with life has produced a very beneficial impression. A lot of efforts have been put into organising street advertising and stalls. I am convinced that the strength of Russia is first seen in its strong cities that interact, communicate and engage in information exchange. This is extremely important in view of the coming jubilee celebrations in both cities”, stressed Ratmir Mavliev.
The official establishment of cooperation will promote further contacts and business missions as well as culture exchange and organising joint events to promote interethnic concord.
